Rock Drum Lesson 5
Snare Drum Sixteenth Notes

This rock drum lesson introduces syncopated sixteenth notes on the snare drum. Playing syncopated snare drum notes make the rock beats sound funky. These notes should be played quieter than the back beats on two and four.

Make sure you continue to play steady eighth notes on the hi-hat while you play the syncopated snare drum patterns. The sixteenth notes should land exactly half way between the hi-hat notes.
